Skip Stewart - Costume Designer

Skip Stewart began his career in the costume workroom of the Walt Disney World costume department in Orlando, FL where he gained the basis of his fantasy filled costume design technique. Upon leaving Disney he studied for 5 years at the University of Cincinnati, school of design and art where he honed his technical skills in design and manufacturing. After completing his formal education, he returned to Orlando and opened Skip Stewart Designs and Orlando Theatrical Supply costume manufacturing company. Over the last 20 years Skip has designed and built costuming for most of the major entertainment companies in the United States and many abroad. He has designed and manufactured for Walt Disney World, Universal Studios Florida, Sea World and Busch Gardens, both Anheiser Busch companies, and created all the costumes for the 1997 Super Bowl half time show. He is currently designing for Opryland Productions, Viacom’s Paramount Entertainment, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, Celebrity Cruise Lines, Norwegian Cruise Lines, and Cunard Line Ltd.. Skip’s recent costumes designs projects included the main opening show for Disney’s new theme park, Tokyo DisneySea, all of the costumes and uniforms for the new Titanic Exhibit, Harrods of London’s 150th anniversary celebration and all three of Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede’s Theaters. Due to Skip owning the costume manufacturing company where he builds the costume designs he creates, he is afforded tremendous latitude and artistic freedom. Skip’s range of creative costume designs, from musical reviews to sparkling ice shows, from wild west productions to Cirque like extravaganzas, and from electric lights parades to Las Vegas style pageantry, offers him the confidence to design any project assigned him. The most innovated part of his career has come about in the last three years due to the age of computers. Skip is a fully digital (computerized) costume designer. He creates world-class designs by the use of a custom built computer and fine art digital programs.

Skip has created, designed and executed the four most recent Production Shows that Morag Productions, Inc.  premiered on board Seabourn Cruise Line and are currently on Cunard Caronia.
