With 23 years of experience to his name, Bob has held technical positions at Hotels and Casinos, on board Cruise ships and at theme parks. He is an experienced technician in all facets of technical production, including but not limited to concept, design, training, editing and programming, show control, automation and lighting. Bob served as Senior Stage Manager and liaison to shore side management while onboard the Royal Viking Sun & Royal Viking Queen, five star luxury cruise ships. He managed all technical facets of stage production for lecturers and three different shows every evening. Coordinated with star entertainers, cruise staff and engineering personnel. He supervised two assistant stage managers and a crew of nine. Mixed live vocals, live band and 8 track click track shows on 24 to 40 channel Yamaha boards. Designed and ran lights on 48 channel strand memory board. Programmed "Omni Q - Omnisoft Show Automation" system for lights, video, and stage effects. Promoted to Senior Stage Manager in 1989. His career with Royal Viking Line also found Bob directly overseeing dry-docks in Norway, Singapore, Finland, Hong Kong & Germany. Most recently, as the Technical Director of Entertainment at the Stratosphere Hotel & Casino, Bob successfully created and managed an operating budget of over 7 million dollars. One of his many accomplishments while at the Stratosphere Hotel, was overseeing the design, construction and opening of the new 3500 seat Outdoor Event Center where John Michael Montgomery & the Beach Boys performed as well as a Boxing Event with Junior Jones, late in 2001. Over the course of the past 3 years, he was able to reduce the technical expenses for the 650 seat main showroom by over $1,100,000. Thus allowing a complete renovation of the Sound & Lighting system to accommodate Headliner Entertainment without the need for renting additional equipment for each act. Bob was directly responsible for all aspects of the Technical & Non-Technical aspects of the Entertainment Department His varied responsibilities included the Hiring & Training of all Entertainment Dept. Staff, Budgets, Contracts, Bookings, New Building/Expansion, Shows, Bands, Daily Operation and more. |
